Everytime i stop playing a video XBMC restarts itself and i am back in the home screen.
Cause of XBMC restart i have 2 debug logs attached:
Log 1, playing video until stopping it and XBMC stops itself (or maybe crashes): http://pastebin.com/pJvhEUYP
Log 2, XBMC restarted: http://pastebin.com/WmApmVc9I am not sure if this is by intention or maybe a crash of XMBC.
I would prefer a normal stopping of a video and not a restart.December 16, 2011 at 13:58 #2158If nothing important in your settings, can you remove the directory /root/.xbmc and reboot ?
Try to play video without installing any addons.December 19, 2011 at 12:56 #2184Doesn’t help.
I start XBMC clean, without any special settings, only added a smb share for video from my server and started playing it -> XBMC still restarts afer I stoped the video.December 19, 2011 at 15:05 #2190try the last iso, we are working with Eden now

Report if you have this issueDecember 20, 2011 at 05:36 #2203As i mentioned in the other post, no change of my issue with XBMC restarting/crashing after stopping a video.
Used: “geexbox-devel-20111219-r13631-i386.iso”December 20, 2011 at 06:28 #2206Please, test this iso : http://download.openbricks.org/geexbox-devel-20111220-r13636-i386.iso
with video on usb or cd, if no crash, the problem is with samba shareDecember 20, 2011 at 11:12 #2219the new versions are extremly buggy.
XBMC is crashing very often.BTW I try the video issue with UPNP client in XBMC -> problem still exists.
I think i let you fix some basic thinks before i get back.
December 20, 2011 at 13:27 #2221yes i have strange things too. i’ve built a new iso removing some patchs
The result is better. No problem while playing a video/stopping.
I’m uploading itDecember 20, 2011 at 14:25 #2224I also tried the Live TV feature with TVheadend.
Sorry to say that it is not running as well as in my “hand made” ubuntu setup.
But anyway, it is good to see that you are working on it and i am looking forward to have a well running Live TV feature in Geexbox.
December 20, 2011 at 15:04 #2226What does not work ?
that’s interestting
I use only xbmc as client
But i’ve tested it on “my multimedia server” and tvheadend was working
Did you try this ?
time to retry
December 20, 2011 at 17:42 #2228i used the tvheadend on geexbox not on a separat machine.
seems to be there is an issue with the satellite config on your geexbox release (muxes are not set up correctly while choosing the right satellite and connecting it to a LNB config) … i had to copy all the muxes from my other machine to tvh on geexbox to make it work (somehow). But Xbmc is crashing often while watching live tv, maybe because of tvheadend and maybe because the drivers of my technotrend S2-3200 which are buggy since kernel 2.6.38…
Maybe Xbmc is crashing because of the faulty drivers. As i said, the combination is running well on my other test machine (with another DVB-S card and without geexbox) … and with amazing zapping speed like 0,5 sec per channel swtich.
December 21, 2011 at 07:45 #2241What server do you use on your other test machine, hts or another one ?
December 21, 2011 at 09:59 #2246It is in the new geexbox devel iso.
You gave me the like.Or i dont understand your question.
I simply used tvheadend from geexbox iso, running tvheadend and xbmc on same machine only be using what you provided
BTW i haved check that the video stop issue is solved

December 21, 2011 at 14:11 #2250dont worry, i am working for a french company.
On my other test machine i use Ubuntu Oneric with ~ half year old XBMC PVR devel release from Lars togther with the latest tvheadend pulled from git and self compiled.
