Hi,
I have Zotac ZBOX with AMD Zacate CPU and integrated ATI HD 6310 GPU.
I’ve tried 2.0 release, however as soon as X server launches, I get the ‘static’ like this:

Now I’ve tried downloading the latest release as said here:
http://www.geexbox.org/forum/topic/geexbox-on-amd/
I get Geexbox to start now, however the picture looks very pixelated:

Any idea what causes it?

I see the suspicious line here:
[475005.956] (II) GLX: Initialized DRI2 GL provider for screen 0
[475005.959] (II) RADEON(0): Setting screen physical size to 507 x 285
Indeed the screen looks like it’s upscaled.
Unfortunately, with Ubuntu, Fedora and other Linux distros becoming user-friendly, I already forgot about how to configure X server the way I need So help is appreciated here.

I’ve tried changing settings in /etc/X11/X.cfg just for the sake of experiment
# cat /etc/X11/X.cfg
# Set a custom Xorg resolution
XORG_RESX=”1280″ # desired screen width in pixels (ex: 1360)
XORG_RESY=”960″ # desired screen height in pixels (ex: 768)
XORG_RATE=”60″ # desired screen refresh rate in Hz (ex: 60)
However, id doesn’t affect anything. I still get that “Setting screen physical size to 507 x 285″ line in log and monitor resolution (from service menu of monitor itself) is 1920×1280@60

i don’t think the problem is here.
A user report that with an ati HD3450, it works
Maybe a problem with the radeon driver ?
Try to downgrade the resolution in xbmc (system/settings/video)

I get the same result (pixelated output) for all resolutions in XBMC settings.
In Ubuntu, latest Radeon drivers work well, and MPlayer uses GPU for H264 rendering.
