    Hello

My apologies for mentioning this the second time, BUT I’ve tried to playback some HD videos with GeeXBoX on pandaboard and the framerate is really low. I’ve also tried to play the same clips on Ubuntu maverick with TI package installed and they played perfectly! I’ve also noticed that video decoding is mentioned to be done in SW. Could there be made any improvement in SW in order to use the accelerator available in OMAP4?

    Thank you in advance!

Currently there’s no HW decoding support in XBMC on OMAP4. We’re exploring solutions to integrate it, but it’s not a trivial task.

You probably know this already, but gstreamer based players on ubuntu maverick can make use of the HW acceleration. Is there a posibility to switch the XBMC engine over to gstreamer? Would this not be easier?
