Hello
According my topic here:
http://www.elektroda.pl/rtvforum/viewtopic.php?t=2935901I have GeexBox im my PXE server introduced using such configuration:
LABEL geexbox-x86_64
MENU LABEL GeeXboX
KERNEL images/geexbox-x86_64/vmlinuz
INITRD images/geexbox-x86_64/initrd
APPEND root=/images/geexbox-x86_64/rootfs boot=isolinux netboot=nfs nfsroot=192.168.1.1:/srv/tftp/images/geexbox-x86_64 vga=789 persistent quiet splash loglevel=3And on some machines (Notebook HP250) it starts very well (both 32 and 64 bit) and for other machines (VirtualBox or Dell Optiplex GX270) the effect is like below:
Can’t find valid root filesystem…
Strange… Some computers are able and some not? And every the same machines?
Any ideas?
Long time I didn’t test that :p
can you read this http://www.geexbox.org/forum/topic/failed-to-booting-from-network/#post-1691
(3 years old … )
but this part was not so much modified. But the most strange is that all machines boots via PEX but only some succesfully. Some machines are working (boot completly) and some they got “can’t find root filesystem” during boot process).
I will read linked topic, thank you very much for that.
Best regards
MariuszAt least, if it can boot , you can try to embbed rootfs in initrd.
http://www.geexbox.org/forum/topic/geexbox-with-rootfs-inside-initrd/
read the post, there is a link for a working init filewonder if a problem with some ethernet modules built-in and others not
Checking …
I would like to ask how to modify Geexbox 3.1 from the CD into PXE boot?
Thank you-

I’m not sure to understand :
you want to boot from cd or not ?i want to boot frome pxe
Because the client side machine upgrade the old version 1.2.4 can not drive the network card
There have been tested version 3.1 can be used but should be modified to the original pxe mode used
Well, version 3.1 is quite old, use our snapshots : http://download.geexbox.org/snapshots/
then do what is said in documentation : http://www.geexbox.org/geexbox-for-pc-booting-from-network/
If it doesn’t work, I can maybe test this later in the week, but I need to change my network configuration for that.Ok I will try again if you still do not return and thank you very much
I can help, but changing everything on my network …
Now, if it works with version 3.1, why do not boot from an usb stick ?Originally used to make version 1.2 made pxe environment provided to students to watch the film
The student’s host does not have a hard drive and a CD player
Do not support usb bootJust test can be used normally pxe boot
But would like to ask again
How do I get clinet-side boot automatically into Chinese? It should be supported by kodi. You can change your regional settings
see http://kodi.wiki/view/Add-on:Chinese_(Simple)Has just been modified there are traditional Chinese very grateful
But in the end there is a problem because the start with pxe so re-boot settings will be restored
How can I save the modified environment will not be re-boot after all the time again -
