I’m running the latest Geexbox developer snapshot (24 July 2013) on my Cubox, and think it’s amazing. Connected via NFS to my media library and it’s playing everything I have thrown at it.

My one problem is I can’t find a way to get it to connect to my Mythtv backend. The cmyth PVR add-on isn’t listed, the MythBox video add-on seems out of date and I can’t even get a UPnP connection to work. Am I missing something obvious?

Thanks for all the hard work that has gone into this distribution.

When I see it right, we are currently not building the cmyth add-on on any platform. Not just CuBox. I will try to have a look at this in the next few days. The problem is, that the add-on requires libcmyth, which uses a rather strange build tool named SCons. This needs to be integrated into OpenBricks first…

Thanks for looking into this. I had spotted libcmyth-arm.so in /usr/lib/xbmc/system/ so hoped the pvr add-on build would be fairly easy, from your reply that is clearly not the case.

You are right. libcmyth gets built as part of XBMC, indeed. Thus enabling the addon is pretty simple. Snapshot r16297 should have it…

The MythTV PVR add-on is there as promised and is working as it should in XBMC (i.e. enabling the PVR functionality and integrating to the MythTV backend). Unfortunately, possibly due to the way that New Zealand DVB-T content is , the video skips and runs ahead of the audio. The Cubox happily plays 1080p BluRay rips with 5.1 pass-through to my receiver, but can’t play the MythTV stream (even if I copy the MythTV file to the media library with the BluRay rips, so it isn’t a PVR issue).

This isn’t a Geexbox issue – hopefully it works well in countries with more standard DVB-T encoding. I’ll try searching around the XBMC forums for help.

    Thanks for all your help.
