Some codecs are distributed under a license that prevents including them directly in something such as mplayer or GeeXboX. That's the reason why mplayer, and by extention GeeXboX, will be unable to play these files on the standard ISO. However, this problem is easily solved because mplayer supports the use of external codec files.

Where to find them ?

These codecs can be downloaded there

How to add them in GeeXboX ?

Using the generator

It's possible to download these files directly from the generator. Take a look at this article.

You can also add these files manually. Simply copy the files in the folder /iso/GEEXBOX/codecs of the generator. Then create an iso and burn it in Disc At Once mode.
