Streaming MMS

If you want to use MMS stream (Microsoft Media Server), add the following line in etc/mplayer/mplayer.conf :

cache-min=10

Accessing Windows XP shares

On Windows you have to :

1. Check Enable NetBIOS with TCP/IP in the Advanced TCP/IP parameters of your network card
2. Enable the Guest account (Control Panel -> User Accounts)
3. Share your folder(s) (don't use comments, or any spaces/special chars. in the share name)
4. Verify that Everyone or Guest has read access to the share and the folder (not necessary if you have "Simple File Sharing" enabled)

On geexbox :

• In the etc/network file, check following options

GATEWAY=""
DNS_SERVER=""
SMB_USER="guest"
SMB_PWD=""

Accessing Samba shares

To avoid problems with filenames containing accents

• Add this to the [global] section of your smb.conf file :

unix charset = ISO8859-15
dos charset = 850

Using Domain user

To specify a domain user
