You can either download sources of the last official version, or of the latest snapshot version from GeeXboX's mercurial repository (recommended).
Development Versions
- Mercurial
In order to keep track of the source file changes, a code revision system called Mercurial is utilized.
- Access via a web interface
You can consult the list of patches and their contents there :
- GeeXboX : http://hg.geexbox.org/geexbox - Generator : http://hg.geexbox.org/generator-fltk
- Command line access
First af all, you should ensure you have installed on your system the Mercurial package. Mercurial is available in many Linux distributions as a package. For example, in Gentoo you'll just have to enter the command:
emerge mercurial
and all relevant packages will be automatically downloaded and installed.
A nice tutorial, with some common Mercurial commands, is available here.
If you want to download the sources from Mercurial GeeXboX repository, you must use the following command, which will create a directory geexbox, in the current directory, containing the current geexbox sources:
hg clone http://hg.geexbox.org/geexbox geexbox
Finally, to update your sources by synchronizing them with those of the server, go inside the root directory where you have selected to store your very own GeeXboX repository and enter:
hg pull hg update
