Jerking Playback

If video files are jerking (too low CPU causing frames to be dropped), using the generator, adding the following line in the file etc/mplayer/mplayer.conf can help :

  • For PAL :

scale=352:288

  • For NTSC :

scale=352:240

This will produce a lower resolution output from videos, requiring less processing power. This method should only be used if needed as it lowers video quality.

Changing display resolution

  • 1024x768

- Using the generator, change /iso/GEEXBOX/etc/mplayer/mplayer.conf to:

screenw=1024
screenh=768

- And in /iso/GEEXBOX/boot/isolinux.cfg:

vga=0x318

  • 640x480

- Using the generator, change /iso/GEEXBOX/etc/mplayer/mplayer.conf to:

screenw=640
screenh=480

- And in /iso/GEEXBOX/boot/isolinux.cfg:

vga=0x312

  • If you are doing an Installation, you need to edit /iso/GEEXBOX/sbin/installator. Search and replace all instances of vga=0x315 with vga=0x318 (or vga=0x312).

Reversing display (mirror effect)

Using the generator, add the following line in the file /iso/GEEXBOX/etc/mplayer/mplayer.conf.

  • Vertical reverse

flip=yes

  • Horizontal reverse

mirror=yes
