Development Version 21.2.2012
Cannot install Wifi. No Driver is automatically installed.
For my Mini-PCI-card I would need not included ndiswrapper package
Alternatively for my D-Link DWL-G630 i would need the rt2561.bin installed.
Can me tell how to ?-

February 23, 2012 at 12:33 #3103We have a package for ndiswrapper, need to build it ….
Stay tuneFebruary 23, 2012 at 12:36 #3104Thx a lot, please tell me too how to install Ndiswrapper and the driver for the Wifi Card
February 23, 2012 at 14:03 #3105arf doesn’t compile anymore, bedfore trying to fix this, can you send me the content of result.txt after executing command-line :
systemd-journalctl -a > result.txtFebruary 23, 2012 at 14:15 #3106here is a link, install ndiswrapper & ndiswrapper-tool (both not tested)
http://download.openbricks.org/r13982/
copy this two packages at the root of your usb stick, switch to vt2 (see documentation) , then do :
opkg install /.root/ndiswrapper_1.57-1_i686.opk
opkg install /.root/ndiswrapper-tool_r97-1_i686.opkFebruary 24, 2012 at 02:38 #3123Thx, I installed both, but now dont know how to configure.
I have 2 Result Files ( one before and one after Installation) but dont know to transmitP.S. Email- Notification dosnt work. No folowup Mails, no Register Mail
February 24, 2012 at 03:43 #3124I installed now the driver with “ndiswrapper -i /root/drivername.inf”
Now I think, I have to edit the Modules Configuration and add “ndiswrapper”
Ho can I do this ?February 24, 2012 at 04:12 #3125in /etc/modprobe.d
blackist the module for your wifi cardin /etc/modules-load.d
create a file called ndsiwrapper.conf
add : ndiswrapperbefore doing this :
test with :
modprobe ndiswrapper
what returns “ifconfig” and “iwconfig” ?February 24, 2012 at 06:07 #3126After restart :
1. “ndiswrapper -i /root/name.cfg” says “already installed”. So the Driver is ok
2. “modprobe ndiswrapper” says “module ndiswrapper not found in modules.dep”
I think this is because I could not write “ndiswrapper -m” because nnoOption in this Version of ndiswrapper
3. ifconfig knows only Lo and Eth0, no Wlan0February 24, 2012 at 09:38 #31281) Good
2) execute :
depmod -a
before “modprobe ndiswrapper”
(just once)-

February 24, 2012 at 10:29 #3132After Start of “modprobe ndiswrapper” wlan0 exists now.
No Autostart after rebooting (Blacklist ok, File ndiswrapper.conf ok too)
in IFconfig no IP at Wlan0 (because I starte with Eth0 and then plugged off Ethernet)
think would need a restart, but not possible, because ndiswrapper dosnt load automaticFebruary 24, 2012 at 13:16 #3133my mistake : ndiswrapper.conf should be in /usr/lib/modules-load.d/
you should have another files in that directorywhich module did you blacklist ?
Don’t forget to change the file /etc/network too
February 24, 2012 at 13:31 #3134I loaded driver WlanCTG.inf . so I added “blacklist wlanctg” to Blacklist
ndiswrapper.conf moved to /usr/lib/… still no Autoload (no wlan0 in ifconfig, iwconfig)
in /usr/lib/… is “eventlircd-mod.conf too
manual load with “modprobe ndiswrapper” wlan0 ok, iwlist wlan0 scan finds my wireless network
there is an other “ndiswrapper.conf” in /etc automatic generated, should I take this ?February 24, 2012 at 15:35 #3135no, do not blacklist wlanctg …
you should only blacklist native module which can conflict with ndiswrapper
remove this and rebootFebruary 25, 2012 at 03:03 #3138Didnt start automatic.
Made complete new Installation with devel 23.02.2012
Loaded all Files (ndiswrapper, Drivers ) to root
opkg install /root/ndiswrapper_1.57-1_i686.opk
opkg install /root/ndiswrapper-tool_r97-1_i686.opk
depmod -a
ndiswrapper -i /root/…..inf
modprobe ndiswrapper
ifconfig or iwconfig
—> Wlan0 exists
iwlist wlan0 scan
-> finds my wireless network
added “ndiswrapper” in new file /usr/lib/modules-load.d/ndiswrapper.conf
reboot
—> no Wlan0 present -> not automatic loaded !!!!
How can I load automatic ? Makes no sense to edit etc/network if wlan is not present on startup -
