Hi, I’m a big noob in Linux and more (Pc user…. :) )

I just install Geexbox on my old PC on the hard drive with a version called ” latest-iso-devel.iso ” ( 19/02/2012 ) who have an installer. ( P4, I use the onboard graphic card )

Then all is ok but the display is VERY slow !!! When I try to move in the selection menu it take at least 2 seconds to change.
I already read some stuff about that but don’t realy understand ( my English is poor, I speak French ).
Then does someone have an idea why it work so slow ??

Thx in advance.

i can do nothing else … already the last driver for your card. Maybe a little too old for xbmc ?
Can’t you add an nvidia card on this motherboard ?

Just find an Nvidia “geforce4 ti4200 128mb tv dvi”,

restart with a “normal” live disk (latest on the download server) and the PC stay blocked on the startup splash screen (with the pinguin).

Does I need a different version of the live CD ?? And, is it possible to install this one on hard disk ? (more quiet, CD reader make noise)
