My system was running fine on what is now a relatively old build, r13686. For some reason it took a dump on me the other day and wouldn’t boot. I figured I’d just throw a new iso on and copy over the casper-rw file so I didn’t have to redo all of the config. It turns out that didn’t work. So I just put on r14078 and started to do the config all over again. For some reason I can’t get the audio to work at all. I must have gone through all of the options for devices and everything comes up as cannot be initialized. Is there any way to go into the casper-rw from the image that was working (I do actually have a back up of that) and pull out what the working audio settings were?

from linux : mount your casper-rw file with loop device, then you can modify , remove check whatever you want
from windows use explore2fs.http://www.chrysocome.net/explore2fs

I’ve tried going through explores. Perhaps I just didn’t recognize the right file though. Do you know where the audio settings would be stored?

/etc/audio ? Did you change something in his file ?

That’s odd. There’s no “audio” directory in my back up .
I hadn’t made any material changes to my installation that I can think of.
