First of all, please excuse my lack of LINUX knowledge.
I have a CUBOX-i4Pro and I recently installed the lastest build of GeexBox.
I am really impressed of the performance and the 1080p videos are incredibly fluids.But I’m experiencing some networking issues.
I read almost all post in this forum and none of them seems to be related to my issues. I know that there is a known issue with the wireless on the CUBOX-i.So, to bypass this issue, I’ve connected my CUBOX-i via ethernet to a linlsys WAP 54g(with DD-WRT) acting like a client on my wireless. In the XBMC – GeeBox network configuration, I configured the following network connexion:
NETWORK=”LAN”
NETWORK INTERFACE=”Eth0″
IFACE=”B8:5A:F7:82:AB:A6″
ADDRESS=”192.168.XXX.XXX/24″
GATEWAY=”192.168.XXX.XXX”
DNS_SERVER=”192.168.XXX.XXX”
SSID=””
HIDDEN=””
SECURITY=””
PASSPHRASE=””After rebooting the CUBOX-i, in the XBMC system network informations, here is the network connection status:
LINK = Connected
Mac ADDRESS = busy
ADDRESS=”192.168.XXX.XXX/24″
GATEWAY=”192.168.XXX.XXX”
DNS_SERVER=”127.0.0.1″
INTERNET=not connected. check your network configurationsI think the problem is the DNS server address.
I’ve tried several times to access to the terminal and editing de /etc/network file to force my network settings but each time I’m kicked out of the terminal and the XBMC starts.I have a usb wireless adapter that I would like to use instead of my linksys wap 54g mentionned above. the adapter is an 2000mW USB Wireless G / N Long-Range WiFi Network Adapter With 9dBi Rubber Antenna. How do i get this work with my CUBOX-i and GeexBox
Any help would be really appreciated
Hi, I have similar configuration problems but IFACE=”eth0″ in /etc/network.
i can go to internet to download extension like youtube and use it.can you post the content of /etc/network, removing, if any , password.
for wifi, plug your stick, then post the results of
ifconfigsorry for the delay, but here is my network file. I finally connect my cubox-i 4pro via ethernet in a linksys wap 54g set to be a client. the network is stable (for now) but I was wondering when I look my network informations in the XBMC (setting->system info->network) why my DNS address is 127.0.0.1 even if I forced it into the network file

Retry long limit:7 RTS thr:off Fragment thr:off

wlan0 no wireless extensions.
I read that I should disable the bluetooth but I do, I wonder if my bluetooth keyboard(with the dongle) will stop working
Thanks again for your help ! By the way … GeexBox is awesome !
for your DNS, that’s a feature of connman. (but it works, that’s not a problem)
You can try to switch to networkmanager if this is annoying you.
For your keyboard , never tested such hardware, so can’t tell you. Sorry
Test ?thank you for your fast reply
