Is possibility to prepare .opk to install it on my geexbox? – i’ve try to “make” mc from sources but unsuccessfully…-

i will look at this in my spare timeOctober 15, 2012 at 10:26 #4941Hello tomlohave !
there is progress with Midnight commander  .opk ?
October 18, 2012 at 16:33 #4972adding mc is not a big issue i think, but all you can do with mc you can do also via command line, which is more effective. you don´t need to be a linux guru to just use some commands or editors like vi.
October 19, 2012 at 09:32 #4975sorry but by which aspect  is the command line more effective?! Someone asking for mc simply asks for a tool that handles filesystems in a nowadays convinient way.
Browsing a file tree is by far more effective on mc than plain shell. I come from a different rootfs and still try to get the structure especially because I’m used to headless systems I like mc a lot. Editing files (w/o need for certain regex and stuff) is by very far more effective with mcedit. The fact that you can walk the sreets barefoot doesn’t mean it’s more effective than wearing shoes
October 19, 2012 at 12:06 #4976i know mc and many of the norton commander clones on different os’s.
the command line is more effective  in nearly any aspect if you know how to use it.
anyway I will try to get mc running for geexbox

it’s not restricted to ubuntu users … http://www.openbricks.org/docs/openbricks-manual.pdf
look here :
October 21, 2012 at 02:22 #4992Yes, thank you. I already saw this manual.
I compile the geexbox 3.0 (http://hg.geexbox.org/geexbox). I’m adding patch in the virtual keyboard XBMC  (/packages/xbmc/patches) for Russia users .
You can export  mc of http://hg.openbricks.org/openbricks/file/facec51b8b63/packages/mc  >> in http://hg.geexbox.org/geexbox? That would be fine. Thanks .
October 21, 2012 at 04:19 #4995tha’s commited in geexbox tree (branch geexbox-3.0, so switch to this branch)
