    Hi,

I am looking for a “LiveCD” version OS for my PI.
I cannot really figure out if GeexBox always is a kind of “LiveCD” (i need to be able to turn off power without shutting down services… )

Hope somebody out there can help me.

    Best regards
    Christian

If we could achieve this, we would probably be billionaires and all energy problems on this earth are solved ;-)

To be honest, I don’t understand what you mean. Please define what you think is a “LiveCD” version OS.

    Hi

A “LiveCD” of a OS is a version of the OS where everything Can be on a CD(not writeable medie).
This is good if need to be able to turn off power with out the need to shutdown the OS (closing processes) to avoid a harddisk error because of disconnecting in the middle of an write to disk.

So if the question was if Geexbox for RaspberryPi uses a readonly root file system then the answer is no. I don’t know it it is possible/useful to run XBMC without persistent storage. At least it would require the library and the location for saved settings to reside on a network.

    Hi

The Pi often only boot from SD card,
So not Many would have content there.

Is it possible to make it “read only” ?

    Best regards
    Christian
