    Hello

I’m using Lan (et0) for playing flac,mp3 from my fileserver from smb share.
I’m also want to use wi-fi (wlan0) at the same time to remote from Android if i’m outdoor in the sun :) also needed for my internet connection from the same Android.

Is it possible for lan and wlan to work at the same time in GeeXbox via /etc/network configfile.
If not, some other way to config network without messing up GeeXbox totally. Debian way? if it differs from GeeX.

Thanx in advance for some guidance or suggestions of how to.

    Hello,

The easiest way is to put the GeeXboX PC fixed address. After the dhcp of your box or your wireless router will allow your Android (phone or tablet) to communicate with your GeeXboX with an application.
I used Yatse Androïd remote, the best, but there is also the official implementing XBMC

    Hi jimble

GeeXbox x86 was unstable on my HTPC, x86_64 didn’t work att all on this machine so i decided to try Open Elec.
It supports Lan & Wlan at the same time and no conflicts have occured yet after some houres.
I normally like GeeXbox but Geexbox didn’t like my machine :)

Thanx jimble! for your advice about yatse i’m testing it right now and im looking for a way to se the songs on yatse. The remote works fine.

support for for wlan & ethernet cards (or 2 ethernet cards ) was added after 3.0 release. So this can be tested only using a devel iso.

Having an issue with the latest snapshot in

    http://download.geexbox.org/snapshots/geexbox-xbmc-x86_64-generic/20131004/binaries.x86_64/

in that the wired NIC does not appear in ifconfig (only loopback adapter).

using the official geexbox 3.0 works. I also tried other snapshots (as far back as 9/12) to no avail.
I noticed that connman is ver 1.9 in the latest vs 1.6 in official geexbox 3.0, though not sure if this is the root cause (think the problem is at a lower level). There is no difference in the /etc/network file on working vs non. Tried to change network_backend to udhcpc from connman but it just keeps reverting back.

    any help would be appreciated.
