    Hi guys.
I’d like to put my “download path” into rtorrent.rc. Question is: how? Because is not a USB HD.
I have my download folder into an external NAS through my router net so not directly linked with my PC.
It’s a WD MyCloud NAS with a static IP.
    Thanks in advance to everyone.

And how did you access your nas ? samba share, nfs, something else ?

If it’s the case, then you can add this to a mounted folder on your geexbox pc. Then no problem to use rtorrent. Just point download folder to mounted directory.

    Thanks tomlohave.
I’m not sure about the access protocol; from win10 I use the classic folder explorer (it appear like a classic net resource on the left column).
Once clicked on, I put the username (without pwd) and I’m in.
The NAS is plugged into the router sor the cubox via powerline/eth; they don’t pass through the win10 pc.

I’ve read about smb protocol into network cfg and I’ve already set that string.
But from rtorrent.rc what am I supposed to write in?
    tnx

If it works with win10, I suppose then it’s samba protocol
Just edit /etc/network to reflect your config

    # Static Samba shares can be defined as shown in the commented examples below,
    # where <%>,<@>,<&>,<#> field separators must be present as shown (Note that
    # the password cannot contain these special delimiters):
    # Change static value to "true" to enable this
    #STATIC_SMB="username<%>password<@>ip<&>myservername<#>share1<#>share2<#>share3"
    #STATIC_SMB="<%><@>ip<&>myservername<#>share1"
    static="true"

    save your changes
    install automount-smb package

    then reboot

Once done and this part works then your share should be mounted in /mnt/shares/your-shared-folder
edit rtorrent-rc and download directory to /mnt/shares/your-shared-folder

    tnx again!
All is quite perfect but permissions: read only…why?
From my WD admin UI it’s all right.
When I launch rtorrent here the error:

rtorrent: Could not lock session directory: “/mnt/shares/WDMYCLOUD/Public/rt/session/”, held by “”.

And moving into the path folders from geexbox, the folders are blu like read-only (they should be green). All of them: from “WDMYCLOUD” to the “session” as well.
    tnx

That is because the share is mounted read only . Something else to modify… Please, édit /usr/bin/automount-smb and replace “ro” by “rw”
    Reboot
