    Hello,
I have an old Twinhan Remote from a DVB card (USB HID Keyboard type),
used it on GeeXbox 3.0 editing file: /lib/udev/rules.d/98-eventlircd.rules
to parse Vendor & Model USB ID’S

    ENV{ID_VENDOR_ID}=="6253", ENV{ID_MODEL_ID}=="0100",
     ENV{eventlircd_enable}="true",
     ENV{eventlircd_evmap}="03_$env{ID_VENDOR_ID}_$env{ID_MODEL_ID}.evmap"

and creating custom 03_6253_0100.evmap on /etc/eventlirc.d for key remapping.
Testing 3.1 devel-20140607-rfbba663 found that /etc/eventlircd.d folder is empty
(no evmaps). Neither /lib/udev/rules.d/98-eventlircd.rules is present.
Adding manually .evmaps and /lib/udev/rules.d/98-eventlircd.rules of ver. 3.0 didn’t work.
Seems like remote works ok with kernel driver as a keyboard but without remapping.

can you test if eventlircd package is installed ?
from a remote shell, try :
    opkg list-installed | grep event

I’m checking a local build and it’s here

Hi Tomlohave, thank you for all your hard work and support.
Maybe my post lack some info, will try to expand.
This problem belongs to devel downloaded binary snapshot,
not my local build (still working to fix some compilation errors).
eventlircd package installed properly, but seems that some patch/commit
between 3.0 and latest 3.1 snapshot remove all *.evmap files from
    /etc/eventlirc.d
    also missing file from udev
    /lib/udev/rules.d/98-eventlircd.rules
I am doing some hardware upgrade on my test HTPC to speedup testing,
will paste output of grep in some minutes.

Clean install 3.1 devel-20140607-rfbba663 snapshot on CF (format, install)
configured settings on xbmc gui; video & audio output, timezone, etc.
Settings – System – Input devices: “Remote control sends keyboard presses” selected.
This is the output of opkg list:

    # opkg list-installed | grep event
    libevent - 2.0.21-stable-1
    xbmc-eventclient - 1.0-2

    Seems eventlircd is not present.

[SOLVED] installed evntlircd, rebooted , edited /lib/udev/rules.d/98-eventlircd.rules
to fetch Twinhan Tech Remote Control USB Vendor & Model and ftp 03_6253_0100.evmap
(custom key map) to /etc/eventlircd.d and reboot again.
Now all key remapping works as expected, thank you.
