    Hi there

I would like to install BTSync the version without UI, since I will only use XBMC as UI and BTSync should only be available as phone app or webUI. The server version can be found here:
    http://www.yeasoft.com/site/projects:bt … ync-server
    or here: http://forum.bittorrent.com/topic/18974 … rent-sync/

But I don’t know how this can be installed on GeeXBoX? If it needs to be an opkg package, I don’t mind creating it, but I could use some guidance on how to create such packages.

Same for Flexget, it needs Python 2.6.x-2.7.x and pip, then it can be installed via pip. Other method would be via github: http://flexget.com/wiki/Install
How can I install it on a GeeXBoX? Again I don’t mind creating and maintaining the package.

    I am using a Cubox-i 4Pro

    Hello,
the server version from yeasoft site needs btsync
We have already this package (quite) ready
so we just need to add the server version

About Flexget, I’m not sure the pip install will work …
So we need to look a little more how to create/install this package

both packages can be installed, once ready, with opkg manager.
Now to create these packages, you have 2 ways :
    – 1) read a little doc from here :
    http://www.openbricks.org/docs/openbricks-manual.pdf
    – 2) try to understand how it works reading some code (bash scripts)
    https://github.com/OpenBricks/openbricks

If you want additionnal help, the best way is to subscribe to devel list (openbricks) then ask here.*

    Cheers !

I’m very interested to this discuss. Please let me know when you (Tom or zilexa) made the package and make available for all.

    Thank you.

I did some reading and I checked a few scripts but this is way over my head unfortunately :( I did create a topic on the devel list: https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/openbricks-devel

    Hi Tomlohave,

I’m switching back to the forum because I would like to share some new info! I still need a little bit of help, but the biggest challenges are solved now!

    BTSYNC
BTSync for Servers, the unofficial package, is basically just the current package but with the ability to autostart BTSync and to run multiple instances which allows you to have one instance per User. I have been testing this on a RPi and I don’t really like it. Not the best way to add multi-user support. I will stick to the BTSync package that is already available.

    FLEXGET
It can be installed! No need for an opkg package! Takes less then 5min and the guide is even on the official Flexget site. Just go to the Install guide and choose Linux/BSD, select you do not have ROOT access (you do, still go for this choice) then select you have Python but no VirtualEnv. Follow steps from there. Those steps will install Flexget in /root/ instead of /etc/. Below steps are the same except for the install path:

HOW TO INSTALL FLEXGET ON GEEXBOX (copied from the Flexget Installation wizard):
    1. Go to https://pypi.python.org/pypi/virtualenv and download virtualenv tarball (the .gz file at the bottom) or run this command from SSH (assuming you are in /root/)
wget https://pypi.python.org/packages/source/v/virtualenv/virtualenv-1.11.6.tar.gz -> this will not work because the wget that comes with GeeXBoX does not support https! Just download it and copy it to that folder via FTP.

    2. now unpack the file with this command: xvfz virtualenv-tip.gz /etc/ and make sure you unpack it in /etc/. You should have /etc/virtualenv.

    3. Now create the environment for Flexget:
    python virtualenv.py /etc/flexget/

    4. Run these two commands:

    cd /etc/flexget
    bin/pip install flexget

    5. Done, activate it by running:
    source ~/flexget/bin/activate
After that the command flexget will work everywhere. otherwise use /etc/flexget/bin/flexget [options]

Now I only have one question/issue left and need some help!
Flexget works best with Transmission because it will take care of everything and pass the torrent/magnet to Transmission with the correct download location path for that specific torrent. This is not possible with rTorrent (I have opened a Flexget ticket with a request)

    ISSUE: TRANSMISSIONRPC
But to be able to communicate with Transmission, Flexget needs the very tiny little tool called transmissionrpc. I can install this also in a virtualenv but then it is not available for Flexget.
All I need to correctly install this is “easy_install” which I believe is part of SetupTools. Do you know how I can install SetupTools or get Easy-install to work on GeeXBoX?

    Hello,
    great news

I’m creating transmissionrpc (and needed Six) package.
    Can you test them ?
just use opkg to install them
    http://download.openbricks.org/cuboxi/six_1.8.0-1_armv7.opk
    http://download.openbricks.org/cuboxi/transmissionrpc_0.11-1_armv7.opk

About flexget, I think we can create a package.
You have well descibed how it works to install it.
That’s something I will try in the evening
    Great Job

(about wget, install wget package, then secure download should work)

    Thanks

flexget added (you only need to create the config file)
    was not so simple ….

Six installed fine. Transmissionrpc had a dependency issue missing Python:

    BusyBox v1.23.0.git (2014-11-16 23:50:38 IST) built-in shell (ash)
Enter 'help' for a list of built-in commands.
    root@geexbox:~# opkg install transmissionrpc_0.11-1_armv7.opk
    Installing transmissionrpc (0.11-1) to root...
    Collected errors:
     * satisfy_dependencies_for: Cannot satisfy the following dependencies for transmissionrpc:
     *      python *
     * opkg_install_cmd: Cannot install package transmissionrpc.
    root@geexbox:~#

Flexget indeed looks like a lot of work! Thanks a lot for that much appreciated. Was the method via virtualenv not good? Of course it is better to have a package.. let me know if I can test that too. And how I can update it for you.

I will have a closer look at the flexget package and create the config file.

nothing bad with your solution, but not something we can’t use without network access and, it depends of libyaml, which was not installed with your solution I think .
anyway, yo can force install for transmissionrpc : ie : python -> Python (typo in meta file, sorry)

    I installed transmissionrpc successfully via:
    opkg install transmissionrpc_0.11-1_armv7.opk -nodeps

About Flexget: I thought I still had to create the file that handles Flexget autostart and start/stop of the daemon, but you already did everything! You mean the Flexget config file itself, which you need to run Flexget :) I am an expert on that area :)

this is a Flexget generic config file for an automated tv show/movies setup using http://Trakt.tv as UI, also discussed in this RPi topic:
    http://pastebin.com/ZbuAHefN

Al personal/sensitive info goes in this seperate file, both should be in the same location/path (root folder of flexget):
    http://pastebin.com/QGzFQjmg

Since the config file does not contain any personal info or login data it could be distributed with the package together with that empty secrets.yml file. People can always modify it.

How to generate the opk file for Flexget?

    he, thanks

I have uploaded all needed packages here :
    http://download.openbricks.org/cuboxi/flexget/
(with your config files located in /etc/flexget )

please remove other packages (transmissionrpc and six + flexget) and try new one

Let me know if it works

you can offcourse build them yourself
but you need to checkout devel branch
Rudi got some problems with my latest changes so … not sure it’s a good idea for you

    Cheers !

I tried adding http://download.openbricks.org/cuboxi/flexget/ to the opkg.conf file but it needs a few files in that location (packages, packages.gz etc). So I just downloaded all the files to a folder /test/.
Then tried “opkg install flexget_1.2.223-2_armv7.opk” but it failed because it cannot find all the other packages.

I then inspected the http://download.geexbox.org/snapshots/geexbox-xbmc-imx6-cuboxi/latest/binaries.cuboxi/packages/Packages file and the other related file, they seem to be autogenerated, not sure how to do that.

Am I overcomplicating things here? I also tried adding a local path to the opkg.conf file by adding this line:
    src/gz test file:///test///packages

But then opkg update gives an error.
