    Hello,

just updated to the latest armada-snapshot (2014-07-27).
The feature of the new audio engine “keep audio device alive” is not working on CuBox.

I feed the box with audio data through DLNA.
Due to the DLNA protocol there is a small gap between each song.
This can be minimised by not closing the audio device between the songs.

The new feature should do exactly this.
It should send unhearable signals through SPDIF to keep the line active.

But each setting x-minutes/always has the same effect: after each song the line becomes closed.

My pre-amplifier displays this information reliable.
With Gotham under Windows it works as expected.

I cannot confirm this. I ran a few MP3s and neither my AVR nor the debug log indicate a change in the audio device between the songs of an album. Also I can see that audio gets shut off a minute (as configured) after playback is stopped. Do you use any navigation sounds? Is the audio you are playing sampled at 44.1kHz?

BTW, CuBox uses the standard audio engine and ALSA sink. (O.K, with some patches, but those are applied on any other Geexbox platform as well). It should not behave differently than any other Linux system. It could, however, behave differently from Windows.

Thanks for the feedback. I will dig a bit deeper into it and let you know if I find something.
