    Hi,

I am trying to setup Geexbox on my new Cubox-i Pro, but I am not able to access any VT through Ctrl + Alt + F(1-12). I manage to log via ssh, but not to enter any terminal directly. Should this be possible? Should it be enabled somewhere.

I am using the last snapshot image, which I got it from http://download.geexbox.org/snapshots/geexbox-xbmc-imx6-cuboxi/20140419/binaries.cuboxi/.

    Regards

via a remote shell, , stop xbmc first with :
    systemctl stop xbmc

This is not a good solution for my cubox i4 setup (keyboard and hdmi monitor is connected).
My Wifi and geexbox itself is quite unstable, but if i want to check the logs i do not want to disable xbmc for a long time. And if the wifi link is lost i have no possibility to check the status of the system (or reason of disconnection), because xbmc is blocking the VT consoles and IP connection is not available…

    Thanks a lot for geexbox.

i agee with zuse… just killed every network connection… Geexbox network configurator doesn’t seem to work…

Solution is to reset the whole system?

you can edit /etc/network on the SD card with your laptop/desktop to change network settings. At least if you are using linux or a ext file system driver (http://sourceforge.net/projects/ext2fsd/ for example) on windows.

the problem is that we don’t use xorg ….

another option would be to add another entry in the shutdown menu:
“Shutdown XBMC and get a console”
Then i could disable xbmc to debug the system status.

Actually such an option will appear when is set to true in advancedsettings.xml. However, our systemd keeps restarting XBMC.

@tomlohave: Maybe we can modify the runxbmc script so that it stops the service when XBMC exits gracefully (EXIT_CODE 0).

    Hi tomlohave,

sorry, I don’t understand the solution. What exactly must I do to be able to access the VT? I have an i2 ultra.

    Tanks in advance

    @nabussan:
A new build will give you an exit option (beneath the shutdown), which deactivates XBMC, but gives you a (or many) VT.
    Thanks for the quick change.

Thanks for the instructions. I could localize and change the xml files under /etc/xmbc, but not the last one, /packages/xbmc/scripts/runxbm, unfortunately.

I have flashed the 20140531 build, but the issue seems to persist.
