    Hello,

    as well as on the armada and on the imx Box I cannot change the workgroup name. When I broswe the workgroup via SMB it always shows two workgroups. One is called “workgroup” in which are the CuBoxes and the second one hosts my other Linux and Windows clints.

    So the change of the workgroup name in the GUI does not have any effect on the settings.
    Probably it needs to be changed in smb.conf [and guisettings.xml].

    You can try to dit /etc/smb.conf

    It should behave like this

    global]
      server string = OpenBricks(%i)
      security = share
      guest account = root
      socket options = TCP_NODELAY SO_RCVBUF=131072 SO_SNDBUF=131072
      wins support = no
      syslog only = yes
      netbios name = openbricks
      workgroup = WORKGROUP
    .......

    Change workgroup value to whatever you want
    Don’t forget to restart samba server
    I think the gui settings under xbmc is only for the remote search, not to set local workgroup

    Hi Tom,

    yes, I modified both files, without any effect. Even restarted the whole system.
    Both my CuBoxes are still in their “workgroup”.

    It’s not an issue for me. It’s just not nice of the boxes to behave like this :D

    Just tested it and it seems to work :)
    I have workgroup set to TEST
    and I can see it under network share under this name
    anyway to access real share , I need to use ip address
