    Hi guys,
if I remember correctly few month ago CEC didn’t work on Kody but is was working on XBMC.
This feauture for me is very important and is for this reason that I kept XBMC until now…
Now, before migrate to a newer release, I would know if this feature is available now on new installazion of Kodi.

    Please, let me know.

    Thanks.
    Sk.

I’m not aware of any Kodi-specific CEC issues…

    Hi guys,

Were you able to get CEC working on Kodi images?

Just upgraded from the xmbc images, and the peripherals menu is greyed out. Also, when running cec-client, no devices are found.

    Any idea?

    Thanks

What do you mean with “upgraded from the xbmc images”? Hopefully not installing a kodi opk on an otherwise xbmc image… As said before CEC works fine with Kodi. However, Kodi needs the package ‘libcec3’ while xbmc uses ‘libcec’. The two packages are mutually exclusive.

Up until now I was using the older GeeXbox images on my utilite (the ones that run xbmc v13). Last weekend I’ve upgraded to the new utilite images (that run kodi v15.2).

When going to the Input Devices menu, the peripherals is greyed out.

I think that the problem is not with Kodi itself, but maybe with the cec drivers/configuration of the utilite? The only way I know to debug this a bit further was to run cec-client by myself, which didn’t seem to work:

    root@geexbox:~$ cec-client -l
    libCEC version: 3.0.1, git revision: , compiled on Sun Jan 3 14:37:27 UTC 2016 by geexbox@SolidRun-PC on Linux 3.2.0-37-generic (x86_64), features: P8_USB, P8_detect, 'i.MX6'
    Found devices: NONE

I don’t have access to a Utilite. I only test Cubox/Hummingboard. @tomlohave: Can you check kernel config and device tree files? Maybe the CEC adapter is not enabled on that platform.

You might want to check if one of these dtb files will give you CEC back. (Rename to ‘imx6q-sbc-fx6m.dtb’ replace the existing copy on your boot partition, reboot).

    Worked great!
I used imx6q-sbc-fx6m.dtb.v2 file in the link you’ve provided, and CEC was immediately recognized by Kodi.

    Thanks a lot
