Documentation …

Enna was designed to be as intuitive and naturally usable as possible but still may want to customize a bit its default behavior to perfectly fit your needs.

Configuration …

Enna has a few default configuration settings which are stored in your $HOME/.enna/enna.cfg file.
If not existing, this file is created automatically the first time you start Enna.

Multiple things can be configured here, the more important ones probably would be:
  • File extensions (for music, videos and photos): only those listed here will be recognized under Enna.
  • Graphic rendering engine: X11, OpenGL, Framebuffer …
  • Mediaplayer settings: prefred player, video and audio output …
  • Path to your media resources, for direct access to given directories(i.e. shortcuts)
  • Media Database: locations to be parsed for multimedia contents. If none is passed, Enna will proceed with on-demand file information retrieval. You may also specify a list of blacklisted keywords that your filename may contain and that are non relevant for Internet information grabbing.

Inputs …

Enna was designed to be controllable with the lowest keys as possible, while it is still possible to bind keys to specific actions for quick access. Currently supported input are: keyboard, mouse and LIRC-compatible remotes.

As for keyboard, Enna can be controlled with:
  • Arrow keys: used to browse in menus and seek in videos.
  • Enter key: used to validate your choice and display video controls menu.
  • BackSpace key: used to cancel, browse back or quit (Echap key also does)
Other key bindings are of course available as shortcuts.

As for LIRC, you need to create yourself a $HOME/.lircrc configuration file, properly setup to respond to enna program.
Example of compatible file can be found here and LIRC keynames can found there.
