One more release candidate to test, which should be very last one before official 1.1 release.

Here comes 1.1-rc3 with its ChangeLog (against 1.1-rc2 release):

– Upgrade BusyBox to v1.5.1

Toolchain:
– Upgrade to GCC 4.1.2
– Switched from ppc to powerpc.

– upgraded MPlayer to SVN v23418.
– fix a hell of previous bugs/crashes in MPlayer.
– support for 3gp, aac, vdr and dvr-ms files.
– support for VC1 in MPEG-TS and MPEG-PS files (like HD-DVD and BlueRay ones).
– support for EVO demuxing (HD-DVD file format).
– new “Preferences” menu, with many new options to control audio streams, subtitles, colors and tweak all video parameters.
– removed libdts, libmpcdec, libogg, libvorbis and libtheora, as deprecated by new MPlayer internal decoders/demuxers.
– allwos loading external subtitle files.

Video:
– Updated DirectFB to 1.0.0
– new VIDIX drivers stack, adding support for ATI Radeons R350 (Radeon 9600) to R520 (Radeon X1900).

– Rework of DVB firmware loader.
– Add support for Logitech UltraX Media remote.

Networking:
– Updated bftpd to 1.8.4.
– Updated Samba to 3.0.25 and uses UTF-8 charset to mount shares.
– Allows Samba and NFS mounts to come up if the servers are brought up after geexbox boots up, by looping in the background.

Miscellaneous:
– Add autoplay support for USB devices
– Reworked internationalization files.

You can test it at:
http://geexbox.org/releases/1.1-rc3/gee … n.i386.iso
http://geexbox.org/releases/1.1-rc3/gee … 386.tar.gz

YOU’D BETTER HAVE A TRY TO 1.1-rc4 NOW

I’m having problems with the generator. On both Linux and windows I get:

failed to copy file ‘i18n/texts/menu_en.conf’ to ‘iso/GEEXBOX/etc/mplayer/menu_en.conf’

when trying to compile.

ok, this file doesn’t exist any longer and generator needs to be adapted accordingly.
Does it prevent ISO from being built/generated ?

well, no other version ever did as JFS support never was compiled in.
The goal is more to check for regressions than complain for stuff that never were included.

Me didn’t know that it was not supported EVER…

What do I have to do so that it does support jfs?

Thx

From what I read it seems that it was assumed that there was a complain in that post…

Ben, I get the same error – just for laughs, I tried copying the menu_en.conf file from RC2, and the ISO built without complaint, but I get this:

It makes navigation a bit…um…difficult. ;)

Probably on today.
The menu_*.conf files doesn’t exist any more, you have to have $LANG.lang file instead (look for en.lang one).

can anyone actually boot off this ISO? I boot geexbox from PXE and with this RC it just powers itself off right after copying filesystem into RAM. I cant make out the error in time but i think its complaining about a bad shell script.
