So I’m a complete noob to this, so forgive me if I’m asking stupid questions.

I’m wanting to try and build a PC that my wife and I can use on our TV. This isn’t just ANY TV… this is a state of the art 25 year old 27″ GE CRT TV!

The only functional input it has is an RF Input.

I have an old Pentium 4, 3ghz machine (478 chipset I think) It’s got 1 Gig of Ram… that I’m thinking of using to make a media center PC so we can watch netflix, or youtube videos… The occasional DVD (obviously not HD)… Play my digital music library…

I’m looking at adding a few things to it to make this happen…
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814139165 (This for the Composite out)

I’ll use an RF modulator to convert the composite out to RF
    (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16882006056)

I’m also going to add an OTA tuner
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16815127008

and update the DVD drive since the old one sticks

My question for you guys is …. will this work? Will the GeeXboX OS work with this hardware? Where can I find that sort of info? I’m sorry if there are easy places to look for this info, I’m just not sure where to start!

There is no stupid question :p
for your pentium 4, no problem, same for me with my lcd tv. No hd movie but it’s fine by me. Just replay recorded show.
Ok for the nvidia card, should work.
so composite out too if you can configure video out
No problem for the DVD drive
For DVB card , no problem if it ‘s supported by kernel.
