I know there is a rtorrent package available for geexbox, but I still prefer transmission-daemon. So is it possible to make a such package for geexbox? If it’s not much work, I will be very happy if someone can build a package :-)

Nobody can help? I know the yocto XBMC image from stephan had the transmission-daemon installed. So I guess it can’t be so hard to get in into Geexbox too. Deluge would be just also fine.

Hope someone can help and provide those packages

I’m having an issue running transmission as a separate user.

I’d like to create a user without root access to run transmission for security. I created a user via the process found here:http://www.solid-run.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=1120#p6501
But when I login (via ssh) to this user and try to run transmission-daemon, it attempts to point to the settings file in /root/ rather than /home/transmission/.

    Even tried transmission-daemon -u transmission -v -g /home/transmission/.config/transmission-daemon/settings.json, no dice
