    Hi,

    Here is the procedure i wrote for me (Beginner).
    I think that maybe it can help:
    ! This is for i386 arch.

    ****************************************************************************************
    Requirements
    ****************************************************************************************

    use lili usb creator to install geexbox-devel-20130923-r16406-i386.iso on a usb stick.

    PDL-Casper-RW-Creator is used to create a casper-rw file (persitent changes).

    toporesize-0.7.1 is used to resize casper-rw file.

    PDL-Casper-RW-Creator and toporesize-0.7.1 are windows programs.

    ****************************************************************************************
    KEYBOARD
    ****************************************************************************************

    run loadkmap </etc/keympas/fr.kmap

    add loadkmap </etc/keympas/fr.kmap AT THE END OF /etc/profile.d/keymap.sh

    ****************************************************************************************
    NETWORK
    ****************************************************************************************

    Go to Programs>GeexBox network Configuration>network
    Wlan
    Wlan0

    no ip = dhcp

    Go to Programs>GeexBox network Configuration>boot services
    check smb server

    ****************************************************************************************
    Region and Langage
    ****************************************************************************************

    Go to System>Appearance to change language and time (choose Central Europe charact)

    after that go to météo and choose your zone

    ****************************************************************************************
    Samba-Server install
    ****************************************************************************************

    opkg update (get latest packages)
    opkg remove samba-server
    opkg install samba-server (samba-server_3.5.10-1_i686.opk is installed)
    /etc/smb.conf is now present

    ****************************************************************************************
    Samba-Server config
    ****************************************************************************************

    1) find path to share:

    cd /mnt
    ls
    cd /mnt/ and “press tab”
    the line becomes: cd /mnt/USB\ Disk\ \#
    Enter the number of your hdd and press tab

    Exemple:cd /mnt/USB\ Disk\ \#2 and “press tab”
    the line becomes: cd /mnt/USB\ Disk\ \#2 KINGSTON (0)/

    the path to share in smb.conf is /mnt/USB\ Disk\ \#2 KINGSTON (0)/

    2) Edit /etc/smb.conf with vi and exit saving changes.

    You need to restart smbd services to apply changes

    3)Access share using \\geexboxIP\

    TOOLS
    ****************************************************************************************

    Commands:

    # opkg info samba-server
    # systemctl status smbd
    # systemctl start smbd
    # systemctl stop smbd

    Vi:

    vi /etc/smb.conf
    insert
    Esc
    exit saving changes: press esc and type :wq (q = quit)
    Exit discaring changes: press esc and type :q! (q = quit)
