Hello

I installed the geexbox 2.0.1 version on the HDD of my old computer and I wonder if I have any specific to configure in order to have my avi files displayed with the corresponding subtitles file (the srt file has the same name as the avi file and located in the same directory).
Is this a configuration issue or an installation issue ?

I went throught the forum and foudn one topic about a close issue, saying to install eglibc-gconv-extra_2.13-14178-1_i686.opk. I did install but it didn’t solve anything.

I don’t have any issue with the subtitles of the DVDs.

Any ideas ?

Thanks for your help

Which iso ?
When playing a video, open the context menu, in video section, choose your srt file
Should work

I used the geexbox-2.0.1-i386.iso that was released a few days ago.

I tried to select the subtitle file the way you described but when I clicked on the .srt file, the menu closed (I don’t even have the time to click on OK) and nothing happens.

That leads to another question: does it mean that each time I’ll see an .avi file, I’ll have to manually select the corresponding subtitle ? There is no way to have it done automatically like in VLC ? I don’t mind if this implies manual modification of files/scripts or anything else

Thanks for your answer

I tried that but it’s not working either.
I didn’t have any error message during the installation of the library so I guess it went OK.

Any other ideas of where I can have a look to see what can be the problem ?

please test this one :
new iso : http://download.openbricks.org/geexbox-devel-20111230-r13719-i386.iso
- update xbmc-vdr
- problem with special caractère in epg displayed as “?” fixed
- added eglibc-gconv-extra for subtitles
- added extra-font-non free for subtitles

don’t forget to do a scan before using the vdr addon (see previous post) and reboot
