    hi,

just about some weeks ago I had to face the problem of a wrong scaled playback if I set up the “fps sync” in menu.
When a video started with e.g. 24Hz the scaling doesnt match and I have to cicle it with the “Y” shortcut back to original.
At this time the OSD is totaly out of scale.
Every few seconds I got a shutter.

From today on the “fps sync” wont work, the display wont change to 24Hz, stay @ 60 Hz. The OSD say 24Hz even if the output will be 60Hz.

    Whats gooing wrong?

You mean “Settings/Video/Playback/Adjust display refresh rate to match video” ? I selected “On start/stop” + “A/V sync method” = “Audio clock” and it works just fine. Starting/stopping appears to take slightly longer (black screen) because the TV needs to adapt to the rate change. However, in one case I got this diagonally sheered picture again . I thought we had fixed that… Does your monitor/TV support 24fps ? Any interesting things in the log when debugging is enabled ?

“Settings/Video/Playback/Adjust display refresh rate to match video”

Yes this is the setting I’m talking about. I use “On start/stop” to but I dont use “A/V sync method” = “Audio clock” because my beamer and TV have no synch.

Yes both devices support the 24Hz format.

Dont know where to look in the debugg….

    EDIT:
As I tested right now, the OSD told me to have 24Hz but I see a picture on my PC Screen wich defenetly doesn’t support 24Hz.
My other TV and Beamer tell me they receive @60Hz

I don’t understand what you mean with that. This option just tells XBMC to leave the audio stream as it is and keep audio video on sync by shifting (i.e. shortening/dropping or prolonging/duplicating) video frames.

As I tested right now, the OSD told me to have 24Hz but I see a picture on my PC Screen wich defenetly doesn’t support 24Hz.

With OSD you mean the black info area that appears on top of the screen when (in my case) using the “menu” key ? If so, these are the properties of the video, not of the output device. Furthermore, XBMC will normally not switch to a mode that is not supported by the connected screen.

Dont know where to look in the debugg….

The log is located in /root/.xbmc/temp . Debugging is enabled under “Settings/System/Debugging”. In this case you get a much more verbose log.

My other TV and Beamer tell me they receive @60Hz

How are these connected ? Straight HDMI ? Also, please post the output of /usr/lib/xbmc/xbmc-xrandr .
