Firstly, am I wasting my time? The chart says software video playback. That is not going to be good enough for 720 I imagine… opinions?

Secondly, after I step through this process:

    http://labs.isee.biz/index.php/How_to_get_the_Geexbox_distribution

where in the hell is this effing directory they are getting the rootfs from??? I cannot find it to save my life.

Thank you so much for the help!

    Hello,

I guess it’s not enough. Never tested, I have no such board.

    It should be in binaries/binaries.igepv2/

You can found pre-built binaries here  : http://download.geexbox.org/snapshots/geexbox-xbmc-omap3-igepv2/

I do not see the binaries/binaries.igepv2/ directory in openbricks nor anywhere else  on my vm :/

Maybe I am jacking it up somehow.

I have tried the pre-built binaries and I just get a red led lit up and nothing from the HDMI. It doesnt boot at all from what I can tell. Any idea why?

The IGEPv2 should boot, but video decoding performance will probably not be what you’d like. OMAP3 has a hardware DSP, but it can only do 720p decoding for very few specific formats (notably, only a limited number of h264 profiles are supported). In practice, this means you’re unlikely to get good decoding performance when throwing at it random video files.
