    *Please remove post, broken hardware*

    Hello,

    I wanted to change my Maxter USB remote to Microsoft MCE remote (model 1039 version 2, http://www.mythtv.org/wiki/MCE_Remote), but it is not working.

    lsusb gives:

    Bus 002 Device 002: ID 0471:0815 Philips (or NXP) eHome Infrared Receiver

    hardware.conf is set to:

    DRIVER=”mceusb”

    DEVICE=”/dev/ttyUSB0″

    Receiver led is blinking when I push buttons, but no XBMC reaction.

    I have USB Legacy turned off in BIOS.

    What can be wrong? Please help.

    Take care,

    UmanMan

    I am using the same remote:

    Bus 001 Device 003: ID 0471:0815 Philips (or NXP) eHome Infrared Receiver

    works perfectly!

    you don’t need to edit any hardware.conf file in /etc/lirc, i works out of the box since begining of this year.
